Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-04-22

What this is

Helm is open-source software licensed under the GNU AGPLv3 license. The license governs your rights to use, modify, and redistribute the code itself.

This page governs your use of this particular Helm instance. If you are the operator, these are the default terms shipped upstream — edit them to reflect your own deployment.

Acceptable use

By using this instance you agree not to:

  • Use the service to violate the terms of any job board or data source it integrates with.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
  • Abuse the AI features to generate misrepresenting or fraudulent application content.
  • Run automated scraping, load testing, or DoS against the instance.
  • Use the service for anything unlawful in your jurisdiction.

Your content

You retain ownership of everything you upload — your resume, notes, and any content you produce. By uploading, you grant this instance the narrow right to process it for the features you invoke (AI extraction, scoring, tailoring, digest emails). You can delete your account and associated data at any time.

AI output

Helm uses Claude (Anthropic) to generate profile extractions, match scores, tailored resumes, cover letters, and chat responses. AI output can be wrong or misleading. You are responsible for reviewing anything Helm produces before you send it to a prospective employer.

No warranty

Helm is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. See sections 15 and 16 of the AGPLv3 for the full disclaimer.

Changes

Terms may change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
